F# .NET Developer

A great opportunity for an experienced F# .NET freelance developer to support our consultancy to develop a number of interesting software solutions for a range of exciting clients.

Salary: Negotiable and subject to experience
Freelance: Project based and/or fixed-term contracts considered

Working on a range of projects both in our Chichester based consultancy (but with the remote working flexiblity), our development team has a culture of embracing new technology to build greenfield software solutions for our clients.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • As a developer in our friendly team you will be working on developing solutions in F#, C# .Net, MVC, SQL and JavaScript in Agile environments. You will have worked in a similar fast moving and dynamic team environment with the ability to create innovative solutions using a quality focused approach.
  • You will liaise with all stakeholders to clarify details of requirements and on occasion meet with clients in support of the designated account manager.

As a result, your attributes would include:

  • Experience of working across a range of different industries and technologies would be beneficial, as would knowledge and experience in identifying/developing business improvement processes to support maximising our service to our customers.
  • Proficiency in F#/C#/.NET, MVC, SQL and Javascript is essential.
  • Knowledge of open source website content management systems, such as Umbraco, would also be useful but not a necessity.
  • Good ability to both communicate and collaborate with internal teams, both verbally and electronically using Trello, Slack etc. is essential.

UI Designer

A great opportunity for an experienced UI designer to immerse themselves within an energetic, forward thinking design consultancy working on digital projects for a range exciting clients.

Salary: Negotiable and subject to experience
Full-Time: Initially 6 months fixed-term / Freelancers considered

The consultancy is seeking an experienced UI designer to support the existing team in the creation of amazing digital user experiences through front-end websites, app developments and software applications. Reporting to the management team, you’ll be a strong UI designer whom holds a solid understanding of UX principles and can provide examples of your unique cross-device experience within your portfolio – mobile, tablet and desktop.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Creating and communicating amazing ideas, concepts and visual designs through Adobe Photoshop and UXPin (or similar), then turning these into functioning front-end HTML code for websites, apps and software integration.
  • Creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows, style guides and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.
  • Create original ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness to complex design roadblocks.
  • Focusing on the way that functionality is displayed through; exceptional design; the structure and layout of content; navigation and how users interact with these.
  • Thinking through complex features and flows, balancing user needs and the client business needs, making the complex feel simple to end users.
  • Creating responsive email templates and their application to email distribution clients.
  • Developing interface content and graphics; design images, icons, banners, etc.
  • Ensuring cross-platform compatibility in all work undertaken.
  • Producing product requirements, testing requirements, design and interface documentation as needed based on best practices and standards.
  • Reviewing competing products and recommending design solutions that differentiate Blueprint’s client’s products from those of competitors.
  • Assure that all user input is validated before submitting to back-end CMS (typically Umbraco or WordPress).

As a result, your attributes would include:

  • Proven UI design experience, with a strong creative portfolio of cross-device work.
  • A passion for understanding the user, utlising user personas to champion the user’s perspective throughout the design process, methods and techniques.
  • Experience of working on software product application projects – web or native.
  • Experience creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps.
  • A keen eye for aesthetics and presentation of creative work.
  • Ability to work alone and in a team, working with remote team members.
  • Great problem solver who can convey solutions through drawings and diagrams and not just digital mock-ups.
  • Proficiency using Photoshop, Illustrator, Visual Studio or Dreamweaver, and wire-framing tools such as UXPin.
  • Excellent knowledge and demonstrable experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • A good understanding of interaction design such as how best to use JQuery etc. to enhance content (back end coding skills are not required but would be useful).
  • Solid understanding of typography for the web.
  • Ability to create strong illustrations, icon designs as well as manipulate photography.
  • Excellent communicator, with attention to detail and who takes pride in everything that you do.
  • Intuitive nature with regards to multi-tasking and co-ordination responsibilities.
  • Critical thinker with a methodical approach and level headed under pressure.
  • Be open to receiving objective criticism and improving upon it.
  • Helpfulness and willingness to go the extra mile to get the job done.
